              AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING, AUTHORIZING OR ALLOCATING
              FUNDS TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS BUDGET FOR THE
              FISCAL YEAR 1996/97. 
             
                                                                       
             
              SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
     OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
appropriated,
     authorized, or allocated the hereinafter set funds from the sources 

     specified for the public purposes indicated of the Capital
     Improvements Budget program for the Fiscal Year 1996/97:

     	       SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That the City Finance
     Officer is hereby authorized and directed to transfer amounts
     remaining including accrued interest from completed and/or inactive 

     projects within and between the capital projects funds listed as
     sources in order to make necessary amounts available for
     re-appropriation to projects in section 1 of this ordinance and to
     close such funds as may be appropriate.
     	       SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
     shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as provided 
by
     law.
